I found this doll in a Toys R Us back in 2013. She's a Stardoll by Barbie doll, the Fallen Angel type. I named her Christina. She came with a slightly damaged box (Which I don't have anymore), and I think she was one of the last left on the shelf. This doll apparently came out in 2011, so she may have been in that shop for two years!

Stardoll is an online game, one that I used to play every evening after school. If you don't know what it is, it's basically where you get your own paper doll and you can buy clothes, makeup, and furniture to decorate your doll and your room. It's outdated now, but there still aren't any other games like it.

Mattel and Stardoll have worked together many times. Usually Mattel would promote a new doll line through Stardoll, and they'd release in game items based off of real Barbie, MH and EAH outfits. When BarbieGirls.com closed in 2011, players were encouraged to migrate to SD. They even gave out free BarbieGirls outfits to those who moved. (For those of us who already played SD, we sadly couldn't get the clothes unless we made a new account.)

In 2011, Mattel released a line of dolls wearing outfits based on Stardoll's in game brands. My doll is wearing Fallen Angel, which is the shop that sells more gothic themed outfits. The doll would also come with a code for some in game currency and the doll's outfit to wear in-game. If you find a boxed copy of one of these dolls, the codes included will probably still work today.

Christina is not very articulated. Only her arms move. I think she's designed more to be a model instead of something to be posed and played with. Her body is different to a normal Barbie's, it is made to look like how MeDolls (this used to be the name for a Stardoll avatar) look in-game. Her hands and feet are wearing nail varnish, which is a nice touch. She can wear normal Barbie clothes without issue, except for the shoes. Not even My Scene shoes will fit.

The only accessory she comes with is a bag. The bag was held to her hand with a rubber band, without this band no doll can hold it. I dislike accessories like this. They are entirely useless if they cannot be held by the doll. I think there was also a stand in the box, but it broke. All of my Barbie stands seem to break easily.

She even has real eyelashes!

I like the Stardoll by Barbie line a lot. It seems that the fashions and dolls are of such great quality! If only they had more articulation, they would be perfect! Sometimes I see these dolls boxed for sale online and in flea markets. They don't seem to be hard to find, so if you want one for yourself, you can easily grab one.

The other dolls in this line are so cute, especially the one with the purple dress!
